Pole Exercise DVD 1 – The Ultimate Pole Dancing Workout – Beginners to Advanced £16.99

Pole Exercise DVD 1This is the first DVD in the Pole Exercise collection. This is split in to the categories of spins, poses, climbing and strength. The moves are very well explained. It is a simple and effective DVD. The moves range in difficulty so it is great for those who have no been poling for that long. There is not a routine section – this is simply focused on learning the moves and improving your strength.

Pole Exercise DVD 2 – Pole Dancing Advanced Moves, Routines and Stretching £16.99

Pole Exercise DVD 2This DVD teaches you the moves and well as strength training and gives you an insight into performing. The moves generally are harder than the previous DVD and are explained very well with a repetition of each move. This also has a routine section which incorporates moves from the DVD. It has an option to play the routine while the name of the move comes up on the screen. This is good as you can try it out yourself – although they do not show you how to link the moves together. This is my favourite DVD from the collection. It features harder moves for the more advanced poler as well as routines to give those who are interested in performing  and competing more of an idea of what moves look good together.

Pole Exercise DVD 3 – Limited Edition GOLD – Beginners to Extreme £18.99 (all 3 DVDs for £39.99)

Pole Exercise DVD 3I bought this DVD as I really wanted to learn some moves on the spinning pole, and this DVD claimed to teach you just that. I found that the spinning section was very lacking. They showed you 3 spinning routines but did not teach you how to do any of these moves. I found it very frustrating as the footage kept being repeated so although the music keeps playing, the same footage is being shown.

This is split into sections as with the other DVDs. I found that they had a good section for climbs and drops. Most of these are quite advanced but all of the moves are explained very well. I only watch this section or the advanced poses section.

The most annoying thing about this DVD is that every time you click between moves there is a clip for about 3 secs that you have to watch. This gets very frustrating – especially if you are going through moves to see what you want to try. It make me want to stop watching it.

Pole Dancing Fitness Syllabus: The Pole Dance Community Syllabus – Jan 2012 £30.00 (not inc p&p)

PDC BookBy far one of the best pole dancing related products I have ever bought. It is great for any instructors who are planning to teach classes with different levels. Each move is shown frame by frame so that you can see how they are done. Occasionally the pictures are a bit blurry and you can not tell exactly how the move is done as no explanation is given. That said, for most of the moves it is very easy to see what is going on. I would recommend this book as it shows you many moves and tells you what level each one is. If you find any you like, write them down as the book does not have a contents page. If you are a beginner you can go through each move in the level until you are happy to move on.

Pole Dance Syllabus – CD Rom £15 (not inc p&p)

PDC CDThis is without doubt the best pole dancing DVD I have bought and unless they release another version, I won’t need to buy any other! All of the moves are in sections of what level they are so you can go through level by level, according to where you are. I had been poling years when I first bought this and there were a lot of moves that I had not heard of. You can play each move slow and super slow. Occasionally you will find a move that you are not quite sure how to get into or out of it, but generally every move is really well shown. There is not verbal explanation and each move is only shown from one angel – but generally this is enough for you to understand the move. I would highly recommend this DVD.
